Maple Planning & Development Ltd is a commercially minded and customer focussed planning consultancy, based near Tunbridge Wells.

The consultancy prides itself on an in-depth knowledge of planning law, practice and policy, and the ability to utilise that knowledge to secure the best possible results for clients.

The practice was founded in early 2018 by Paul Webster BA(Hons) DipTP MRTPI. Paul has an exemplary track record in the field of planning; which has encompassed time spent working in Local Authority, planning consultancy (including time as Director of an award winning multi disciplinary practice), and as Planning Director of a developer/strategic land promoter. That breadth of experience has honed Paul's understanding of the planning system, and his ability to critically evaluate key issues and identify the correct path to success.

What We Do

We guide clients from the start of the process through to grant of planning permission and/or Local Plan allocation, and will project manage all elements in between.

Work Can Encompass:

Initial site appraisals to advise clients of opportunities, risks and, fundamentally, the chance of securing approval

Identification of the most appropriate planning strategy

Preparation and submission of planning applications

Preparation and submission of Local Plan representations

Liaison with Planning Officers, politicians, stakeholders and local residents

Instruction and management of any necessary consultant team

Preparation of planning appeals; and appearances as expert witness

Appearance at planning committee, Local Plan hearings and other public meetings

Applications for lawful development certificates, prior notifications, conservation area consent or listed building consent

Advice on the use of permitted development rights (i.e. maximising what development can be achieved without the need to apply for planning permission)
